March 21st meeting: John Floyd from Heliocol Solar Thermal Heating systems discussing the typical situation where PV needs to replace Thermal Panels and Dual Installation.
John Floyd began his professional career as a young military officer. Commissioned as a second lieutenant, he has held several leadership positions directing the efforts of hundreds of military members. After a successful military career he joined New York Life Insurance Company. While there his sales record earned him an opportunity to join the agency management team. He help recruit, train and develop successful agents for the company. He won a company national sales management award. His management experience also includes operating small business and serving as president of a local title insurance agency. Other back ground includes expertise in business planning, estate and insurance planning.
He also worked for nearly seven years with a Key Bank. There he solidified his understanding of business cash flow planning; lending specifics and treasury management accounts.
He has operated as a commercial loan broker and facilitated the purchase and refinance of real estate projects and served as a consultant.
John has served on numerous private and public board and commissions. In 1997, he was chosen as one of twenty candidates, by the Anchorage Mayors office to as a participant of the Pew Charitable Trust “Civic Entrepreneur” Program. In 2008, he was nominated by Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and subsequently confirmed by the state legislator to serve on the Public Accountancy Board, which oversees the licensing of Certified Public Accountants (CPA).
He has been a Rotarian for nearly twenty years and continues to be active in community affairs. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale Illinois. He has been married for nearly 25 years and has four children.

Future Presentation by Alex Kragie working with Governor’s Office of Energy to create the Nevada Clean Energy Fund. The NCEF is Nevada’s Green Bank, created to enable financing for renewable projects around Nevada.
