Our speaker for November is Marco Velotta, City of Las Vegas, Office of Sustainability.
The meeting will highlight the sustainability initiatives enacted by the City of Las Vegas. The presentation will show the scope of the sustainability plans and actions, but will concentrate on the transportation and renewable energy efforts that are underway to help reduce the city’s dependence on fossil fuels.
Marco Velotta is a member of the City of Las Vegas Office of Sustainability and assists with the implementation of the City’s Sustainability initiative. He graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2006 with a BS in Geography, Math minor and a Master’s in City Planning in 2008. Marco presently assists with the management of the City’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant allocation, the City’s Green Building Program, and implementation of the City’s Sustainable Energy Strategy, including the planning and development of renewable energy and conservation projects and community energy efficiency programs.
