February Monthly Meeting

Join SolarNV to hear from Amelia Gulling, administrator of the K-12 Education and Outreach program “Greenpower” at the Desert Research Institute. Their mission is to support science-based environmental education by providing Nevada’s educators with free tools, resources, and opportunities.  While she serves a major role statewide, much of the work she conducts is right here in Southern Nevada.

Since arriving in Las Vegas two years ago, Amelia has helped create the Nevada EnergySmart Program, serves as a Board Member for Green Chips, the US Green Building Council, the Governor’s Workforce Investment Board on Clean Energy, and the Raggio Research Center on STEM. Outside of her board position she also  participates in other collaborative environmental education efforts across the state. These efforts have led to recent awards including: Las Vegas Women to Watch for 2013, USGBC Amazing Individual 2012, Friend of Science 2013 from Southern Nevada Science Teacher Association, and Best Green Nonprofit 2013 from the RJ.
